What worth is the applaud and recognition,
The praises and cheers of gaily crowds,
It’s not the life, for life is lived in pieces,
And you don’t live with strangers that pass you by.
You stand tall, polished, and with no bruises,
You’re a work of art nature itself admires,
But what of the long days and nights none sees,
You spent tinkering and welding till the eyes
Can see no blemish, can find no spot,
Can’t look through your skin into your soul,
And you become a mirror, a perfect reflector
Of everything they sought and never hold.
