I’m in pain, but I’ll make it my friend.

Pain, would you be my friend?

It’s not that I like you a bit,
But accepting you gives me peace of mind
And getting used to you will make me strong.

It hurts so much more when I dream of good things,
When those expectations are hurt by someone you had faith in,
But if I befriend you and let you stay right here by me,
I know you won’t leave my side,
And although you’re not a company I crave for,
You’ll keep me from craving someone’s company.

So, if a little bit of pain and loneliness is all it takes not to be disappointed,
I’d happily stay on my lone Island forever with you,
Because I don’t want to hope for someone’s company ever,
I don’t want to get hurt again.
